Paying homage to its roots, the IT company adopted San Francisco’s slang name for its company name as it was established in 1984. The logo was also a nod to one of the city’s iconic structures, the Golden Gate Bridge. This symbolised the company’s mission of connecting the world and shaping the future of the internet.
Developed by Cisco’s very own Director of Brand Identity, Gary McCavitt, the company’s first logo had a minimalistic feel that they still adopt to this day. Holding on to their traditions and heritage, Cisco is a company that aims to lead the digital future while not forgetting its roots and showing the world what San Francisco has to offer.
Today, the company’s iconic logo represents the powerhouse IT company and its vision of connecting the world to the internet.
